Brazil 1.7 million contactless POS terminals ready for Rio Olympics

The 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro is set to see an increase of M2M mobile data usage with over 1.7 million contactless POS terminals in Brazil.

According to Andy Gerit at Visa, Brazil is the world’s leader for the contactless market, with more than 1.7 million contactless POS terminals in place throughout the country.

With the increased penetration of new contactless technologies such as smartphones, SMS options, credit and debit card apps, wearable and mobile payments, there is a real need for secure and reliable M2M mobile data connectivity.
